50th birthday of a communication Icon

July brings to our memory the birth of what many of us consider as one of the best ads ever.
An American advertising icon: Coca-Cola’s Hilltop television ad celebrated its 50th birthday on July 8th.
The famous “I’d Like to Buy the World a Coke” ad aired for the first time on american television and became an instant classic 50 years ago.
There are few solid, timeless, iconic cultural statements like this one, not only for the context in which it was aired, but for setting an example of a Brand taking a standing point of view beyond commercial interests.
Having the luck to know first hand about the performance an impact of this campaign, I can tell you it had huge impact along time, way beyond sales and expectations.
What other ads would you include in the iconic top 10?

Happy Birthday Hilltop!

If you wish to learn more about it you can visit the Coca-Cola Museum in Atlanta.

A big thanks to @TedRyan for remembering us about it and sharing such interesting details in his linkedin post.
